Darrin Ford

Darrin is a Sydney native with a degree in History and Communications from Macquarie University. He has led over 150 group tours around the world for the last 22 years, with mature and well-travelled Australian, American and British travellers.

Darrin has a passion for travel, having visited over 115 countries to date. He has lived in the UK, United States, France and South Africa. Apart from travel, Darrin’s interests include photography, comedy, history, geography, art and anthropology. Unique adventures include climbing Kilimanjaro, hiking volcanoes in Central America, visiting gorillas in Uganda and cliff diving in Hawaii. A train buff, he has experienced many train excursions, including the Orient Express from Paris to Venice, the Palace on Wheels through Rajasthan, the Pride of Africa steam train in Southern Africa, the Ghan in Australia, Shinkansen in Japan and the Shanghai Maglev.

Having lived in NYC and various US states, and travelled extensively through the US and Canada, Darrin is excited to escort our travellers through some of his favourite scenery on the planet. From the wonders of Bryce, Zion and Arches National parks, the dramatic peaks of Colorado, the Sierra Nevada and Canadian Rockies, the sublime redwood and Sequoia forests and the glories of the Grand Canyon, Yosemite National Park and Banff/Lake Louise. Combined with charming towns, sparkling cities and unique train experiences, Darrin’s enthusiasm, care, knowledge and experience will help your travels to be seamless, fun and as memorable as possible.
