Paul Willis

Paul has had a lifelong obsession with trains, fossils and dinosaurs. After completing a double major at the University of Sydney and the PhD from the University of New South Wales, Paul became an authority on Australian fossil crocodiles. After14 years at the ABC as a science reporter on the Catalyst and Quantum programs, he spent six years as the director of the Royal Institution of Australia, Australia’s premier science communication organisation, and is currently Adjunct Associate Professor in Palaeontology at UNSW. Paul owned his own railway carriage (a Queensland suburban Evans car BU1072), which he restored as a second home, and now he and his partner Bec are the owners of Farrell Flat Railway Station in South Australia, which they’re restoring as their home.
